Centerville is a capsule collection developed by Underwater Weaving and Jason Miller Studio for Editions Milano for Salone del Mobile, Milano 2026. The project emerges from the meeting of different practices and sensibilities, combining Erin Pollard's handwoven explorations with her husband Jason Miller’s contemporary design approach. The result is a series of objects that bring together seemingly opposing materials: the solidity of marble and the lightness of rattan. The compositions overturn traditional structural logic, emphasizing the outside and redefining the balance among the parts. It is a body of work built on a dialogue between opposites, finding in contrast its own form of equilibrium.
Each piece is one-of-a-kind and available through Underwater Weaving Studio, Jason Miller, and Editions Milano.
Dimensions: 16"L x 11"W x 7.5"H
“Centerville is a personal experiment for us. Our work has been displayed together and sometimes even mashed up together, but this is our first true collaboration. The work is a dialogue between our extremes. The heavy, grounded permanence of Jason’s marble designs and the weightless, open weave of the baskets. Together, the compositions subvert the very nature of a vessel by placing the heavy elements on the outside, anchoring the woven structure rather than being held by it. In a way, the materials perfectly mirror how we operate as a couple—the meeting of masculine and feminine, balancing gravity with air to find a grounded center. Editions Milano is the perfect partner for this project, and we are thrilled to be debuting this work in Milan, a city where we spent some of our earliest days together“. Erin and Jason.
